We celebrate these eight special times (Sabbats) by family and friends getting together to play, sing, feast, perform various rituals, etc. This book is separated into eight chapters which pertain to the eight spokes of the wheel of the year and the foods which are usually used at that time; as the different holidays have certain foods that are more favored than others during certain seasons. A prime example of this would be decorated cookies, fruit breads, a roasted turkey, or a Yule log cake made during Yule. (Christians refer to this season as Christmas.)
